Donation Class benefiting BP MS 150 featuring DEFINE instructor Kristin Frizzell. Check out her exclusive interview here as she prepares for the upcoming race!

DEFINE:  What is the BP MS 150?

Kristin:  It is the largest organized charity bicycling event series in the U.S.  Over 13,000 riders travel on bike from Houston to Austin to raise awareness and help those with Multiple Sclerosis.  It is an amazing event on many levels because so many people work so hard to put it together.  Everyone from the riders to the volunteers give it their all.  Most races have an entry fee but at the BP MS 150 riders also have to raise a minimum of $400 in donations but the average rider raises $1000!  No underachievers allowed. Ha!

DEFINE: How did you get involved or why do you feel like this is a worthy cause?

Kristin: Back in elementary school I had a friend whose mom was such an awesome lady and seemingly so healthy.  She was diagnosed with MS and it seemed like in no time she was confined to a wheel chair.  It was such a shock to all of us and it still resonates with me today.  So, as a triathlete I had a personal goal to compete in events with longer distances and of course the BP MS 150 fits that bill and supports a VERY worthy cause.  I was lucky enough to join Team Williams and have found such a great sense of community.  This ride and the training has been such a blessing. I have a heart for serving others and I feel so thankful that I am able to serve in such a rewarding way through the BP MS 150.

DEFINE: How can people help or get involved?

Kristin: Attend Kasey’s donation class at DEFINE west university on April 6 12:30 pm. Great class, great cause, perfect chance to train!  Click here to register.

You don’t have to be rider to support this cause.  They usually have over 3.000 volunteers and you don’t have to go all the way to Austin to help.  They need volunteers at the race start, road stops, and more.  To find out more about volunteer opportunities click here.
